The Under and Tuglas Literary Institute of the Estonian Academy of Sciences is a research and development institution. Its overall purpose is the study and theoretical modelling of the written culture in the Estonian language in its entirety and the multilingual Baltic-German culture from earlier eras, making it visible and interesting to international scholarship.
