The Literary Institute Awards the Best Literary Studies Research Project at the Student Research Festival.

The Student Research Festival, organized jointly by the Estonian Research Council and the Ministry of Education and Research, will take place on 22–23 April at the AHHAA Science Centre in Tartu. During the festival, the winners of the National Student Research Competition will be announced, and the Under and Tuglas Literary Institute will present a special award for an outstanding literary studies research project.

Over the course of two days, visitors will have the opportunity to explore Estonia’s best student research projects, meet their authors, and gather inspiration for their own work. More than one hundred students from grades 7-12 will be participating, alongside authors of some of the best projects completed by primary school pupils. The programme includes science shows, lectures, workshops, and an exhibition area, culminating in an award ceremony and an entertaining garage party.

The festival also honours the best entries in the National Student Research Competition. The competition aims to support inquiry-based learning in schools and to recognize students who have produced outstanding research projects, as well as their supervisors. This year, 284 research projects (submitted by 315 authors) from 72 schools were entered into the competition. In addition to the national prize fund, special awards provided by partner organizations are valued at more than €18,000. For the first time, the Under and Tuglas Literary Institute will present an award for an outstanding literary studies research project.
