Lisete Talvar Received the Literary Institute’s Award at the National Student Research Competition

Lisete Talvar, a graduating student at Gustav Adolf Grammar School, received the 2026  Literary Institute’s Award at the National Student Research Competition for her paper „The Manifestation of Feminism in „Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice“, Margaret Atwood’s „The Handmaid’s Tale“, and Bernardine Evaristo’s „Girl, Woman, Other“.

According to Hegely Klaus, a member of the evaluation committee, Lisete Talvar’s research stands out for its insightful textual analysis and methodological sophistication. The paper demonstrates a convincing source-critical approach and an ability to integrate a theoretical framework with empirical analysis into a coherent and well-argued study.

The Award of the Estonian Academy of Sciences Under and Tuglas Literary Institute is presented annually to one outstanding piece of literary research. More information about all national and special awards presented in 2026 is available on the website of the Estonian Research Council.
